Day 10 of 31 of FHH

Day 10 of 31

Stop & Think.
This is a new skill I am working on. I wouldn't say I am the MOST impulsive person around ... it depends on the prize at hand. If it's shopping, I'm a slow buyer. If it's a vacation, I will pack up in an hour. My husband knows me best and he knows that when i FIXATE on something, I am like an ox. I am stubborn and will move mountains to "have my way."

Blessing and a curse indeed.

Today, we learn that the P31 is not compulsive.

"She considers..."
She's a visionary who slows down to make her decisions reflect high standards and wisejudgments. And because she takes careful consideration in her decisions, she's not afraid to take calculated risk.

Sorry... another story from yours truly.
I told you this study has been teaching me a lot.
So it excites me to share how cool God is.

Just yesterday morning, I laid on my office floor (super soft white shag carpet, ha!) and prayed. Begged, really. For clarity. For direction on a big work decision. Nick and I are venturing into new territory with some business strategies and I begged God for clarity. For wisdom. For affirmation.

To me, it's a major fork-in-the-road decision.

Side note: I don't always do that. More often than not, I get an idea in my head and tackle it without guidance, research or proper execution. Which has (unfortunately) led me down the path of over promising and under delivering to my customers and team.

This time, I knew too much was at stake to throw spaghetti at the wall.

So for the 1,998 time this month, I asked God for help.

After some prayer, I came across this verse:
(written by a Pharisee about Peter and the disciples)

"For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men, you will only find yourselves fighting with against God." Acts 5:38-39

I decided to run as hard and as fast as I could towards this new project. It's something I am confident God put on my heart and as I pursue Him (and ask constantly for wisdom), He will give me the next step only when I need to see it.

God is pretty cool, huh?

I share that story because it was validation that my "time" spent STOPPING and CONSIDERING this thing... it was time well spent. And in order for me to speed up, I must slow down.

As a matter of fact, the author of Famous In Heaven & Home broke it down with three P's"

  1. Pause
  2. Pray
  3. Pace

Do you have a lot on your plate? A lot of decisions to make? Have you stopped and prayed about it? Do you believe (deep in your heart) that God cares about those decisions and their outcome? Because He does.

Asking you boldly: What vision has God placed in your life?

Yes, you have a purpose. An amazing plan. Incredible potential.

Stop FEARING decisions (like I was) and start praying about it. Taking risks and jumping in faith is scary and fun and (ironically) peaceful.

Happy Day 10 of 31 of our study together ladies!
