Day 1 of #LiveSlowBibleStudy

Day 1 of 21

Hello and Good Morning!
The day I started this bible study (back when I found it hidden on my mom's bookshelf in June), I was walking through unfamiliar territory. It was the first time in my life I was battling depression. Doctors called it Antepartum Depression (depression during pregnancy). Thankfully, I was already on the upward swing of the weirdness and this devotional was exactly what I needed to stay on track.

Today is the start to a fresh commitment. A commitment to sit with God daily. To study biblical truths about food & fitness and let them transform you.

"A prudent person foresees the danger ahead and
takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and
suffers the consequences." Proverbs 27:12

Have you tried before and failed?

That doesn't mean you will fail before... in fact, perhaps that means you were relying TOO MUCH on your own willpower and not on the strength and discipline God offers (pg.15)

Take a moment to dig through these:

  • 3 John 1:2
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
  • Proverbs 4:23
  • Proverbs 16:16
  • Matthew 7:24-25

My AHA moment:
On page 23, you are encouraged to write down healthy habits that you'd like to establish. This day transformed the way I thought of exercising and eating right. It's not a matter of what I hope to look like - it's a matter of OBEDIENCE.

I made a vow to myself and God to do 5 things a day.

What 5 things do you know you should do each day to live a healthier life & honor God with your health?
